A Dark Ugly Thing

Welcome to the Buttar’s Blog, all Buttars all the time.

This just in. Buttars says something jaw-dropping, even for him (from here).

Republican Sen. Chris Buttars' comment came during a debate on SB48, aimed at equalizing school construction funds. Sen. Howard Stephenson, R-Draper, called it "the ugly baby bill," but, as Buttars stood to vote, went further. "This baby is black. It's a dark, ugly thing," he said.

Of course, he didn’t mean it that way [rolls eyes] and he apologized to those who "took offence," but man…

Okay, that’s it. I’ll be trying to stop paying attention to the man.

Senator Buttars, I wish I could quite you!

Is there something like a nicotine patch I could use or something?

I don't wish I could quit Buttars, I just wish he would. Quit. Breathing.

Miki and I voted for him on X96's Boner of the Day vote.

I really hope the Brokeback Mountain reference doesn't imply that you and he take regular "fishing" trips up to the mountains.

Miki and I have always thought he's a closet case for how violently he attacks "the gays."

No!! Ben, Kengo, you found us out!

It’s no use keeping it secret any longer. That’s right. Chris and I are secret lovers. You heard it here first.

I hope he doesn’t have to leave the Senate for the scandal of our forbidden hot gay love.

(Yes I love my family that much, and I think the guy is sufficiently damaging to Utah to warrant such a ruinous hit to my reputation. I’d never be able to be seen in public again, but at least we’d have a chance at equal access to health insurance :-).)

This guy is a serious threat to all that is good and right. From the sound if it, though, if he keeps opening his mouth he'll talk his way into a deep pit from which he'll never return. What a moron! South Carolina can be a bad place to live, and with this guy around it sounds like Utah is pretty bad, too.

I hope you're right. There is some fear the Republican's will rally around him if he gets too much scorn. In most states I'd imagine such would end a career, but Utah, I fear, has a good deal of latent racism from its past.

Many in the gay community here are parents in mixed race families. You should see how livid they are. Buttars insults them on many fronts.

Apparently, he's said that he won't run for another term, as he wants to serve a mission with his wife...

I can't think of anyone I would want to inflict him on, but I guess better them than us!

I’ve been counting down the days :-).

I hope the LDS church sends him to the most ethnically diverse corner of the Castro district.

I hope the LDS church says "thanks for your interest, Chris Buttars, but don't call us, we'll call you."

*sigh*

Maybe he'll cave to the NAACP's demand that he resign.
