My Score

After tallying up all my votes that went my way (minus judges), and dividing by the total:

[drum roll]

63%

That’s a personal best! Anyone beat me?

Last year it was 45%; even the republicans I voted for lost. Yep, I’m becoming more mainstream ;-).

Seriously, this is usually a tough day for me, and, sure, this day is not without it’s low points (All those marriage bans…). But hey, the country will be trying something different, an improvement one would hope, in a time when stay the course just isn’t cutting it. I can’t be upset and am, in fact, quite happy with the results (Very happy for Winder, despite Gill’s loss).

Now, if only those two senate races go to the Dems… A couple of our “liberal” “activist” Supreme Court justices have seen better days...

I also want to congratulate McCoy, Biskupski, Johnson, and Litvack, who all won handily. I wish we didn't have to leave before real results came it.

Anyway, I want to end this post by bidding a farewell to the Senator from Pennsylvania. Yes, yes, Senator Santorum, the terrorists have won and we’ll be gay-marrying hijab-wearing cattle within a fortnight. Yippee!!

True, but Arizona became the first state to reject a marriage equality ban. A silver lining of sorts.

A high school classmate of mine, Ross Romero, was elected to the Utah State Senate. Go Ross!

That’s great news Chris. I love to be in that kind of error :-).

I must have misread something or got an old article. But I’ve found two recent articles: one saying the ban failed and another saying it’ll come to the absentee ballots.

Wait: CNN has 99% of precincts reporting:

551,231 for the ban
583,830 against the ban

Check out the statistics
on it.

:-) That would make my day more than close enough to perfect.

as a resident of the dry (not meaning alcohol consumption) state of AZ. I can confirm that the AZ constitutional marriage ban was defeated margine of 2.8%. BUT it was more than likely defeated because the makers of the proposition included language that would disallow hetro unmarried couples from having legal status (common law).

Crap! it's like I'm all hopped up on sugar today. Have I mentioned that I LOVE POLITICS! aaarrgghhh!

wait I'll get back to you on my personal prediction results and voting record. Yaa more numbers! I love politics - oh wait, I already said that....

I don't care why the voters of Arizona knocked it down, I'm just they did it.

Oh, cranky - I only have a 63% win ratio. My libertarian streak took over during the proposition portion of the game. I only got 10 out of 19 props through the gambit.

with only a 2.8% margine of defeat like all bad golfers they are going to want a mulligan.

They are going to wise up and write a prop that doesn't include the additional language.

The GLBT community will have come back with something that gets at the publics heart. Commitment stories like Scot's and others are the foundation to change public opinion.

If the defeat was a resolute NO, then there would be a much better chance that AZ would not have to do this again.

Specifically in AZ though there is a state law that already bans gay marriage. What the yokles trying to push was a state constitiutional amendment. That can be another point of the GLBT comm to use.

Rummie is GONE!

by the way, I'm very HAPPY about that!

I'm glad that Rummie is on his way out, I'm glad that the House belongs to the Dems and I hope for Virginia and Montana as well ... I wish that Burridge had beaten Cannon and that Ashdown had beaten Hatch, even though, we all know, Hatch is not a career politicians despite the fact he's been there for 30 years now.

Montana has gone to the Dems. Virgina will too.

Rumsfeld gone?

I regret having to not pay attention to my comments during the day.

So, Loyalist and I are similarly in tune with our environments, but santorio wins. Curses!

Let’s see... how to retaliate in a manner fitting of the past season...

[deep accusatory voice]
Santorio says he’s the voice of the people. But he prefers to live in a neighborhood with a strip club on every corner :-).

What a day...

I found this odd.

I stopped in to hear how Limbaugh was regarding yesterday as I was headed to lunch and I heard this very speech:

Limbaugh:
The way I feel is this: I feel liberated, and I'm going to tell you as plainly as I can why. I no longer am going to have to carry the water for people who I don't think deserve having their water carried. Now, you might say, "Well, why have you been doing it?" Because the stakes are high!

There have been a bunch of things going on in Congress, some of this legislation coming out of there that I have just cringed at, and it has been difficult coming in here, trying to make the case for it when the people who are supposedly in favor of it can't even make the case themselves -- and to have to come in here and try to do their jobs. I'm a radio guy!

It shocked me at the time, and I hoped more people could have heard it, if only to be sure I heard it right. Well it’s now linked to at the Drudge Report and I did hear it right. Wow.

Again, what a day…

I understood, but, that was negative campaigning, and, of course, it intentionally misrepresented your position :-). You’ve chosen to live in a certain neighborhood that happens to also vote for strippers, even if you don’t ;-).
